  • Beschrijving: Christos Sgouros is a young man who has never met his parents. He grew up in the streets and now works as a porter at the vegetable market. In his free time, he plays the bouzouki, which annoys Vasilis Chatzipetros his neighbor who lodges a complaint to the police. The chief officer explains that Sgouros has not committed a crime and therefore cannot be prosecuted. He considers Sgouros to be a person of good character and helps him to get into the folk band of a well-known musician. In the meantime, Chatzipetros’ daughter Anna meets Christos and falls head over heels in love with him, but he does not reciprocate her love because he is aware of their social differences. However, his success on the musical scene changes the situation, and even Chatzipetros accepts him. Unfortunately a little before his wedding and while he is on tour in Detroit he is blinded in a railway accident. He is determined to give up everything and moves into a remote villa, but thanks to Anna’s persistence and his agent’s help (who is also a police officer), he is encouraged to undergo a difficult operation. After that, he will be able to see again.
